Respect
noun. due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others.
Be respectful of others. Gamers can come from many different backgrounds and outlooks on life. We must be respectful of each of them. This includes such things as not belittling a player’s knowledge, using proper gender terms (ask if you aren’t sure), harassment, unsolicited touching, discrimination, using derogatory terms, bullying, threats, and other similar things.
Courtesy
noun. the showing of politeness in one’s attitude and behavior toward others.
Whereas Respect is mostly just not being a jerk, Courtesy is an active attempt to play well with others. This includes such things as winning and losing gracefully, not using inappropriate language/profanity, having proper personal hygiene, making sure others feel safe, cleaning up your play area, not using excessive volume, use as little play area as possible, not cheating, and other similar things.
Specific Rules:
Tables: The open gaming tables are open and free, and considered first-come first-use. However, there are a few things that override this.
When an event is being held tables are used for the event first and may mean some tables in use may get bumped for the event; if this means that there are no tables available please come back after the event is over.
We have a couple of tables designated as Handicapped Accessible. Handicapped Accessible tables should only be used when all other tables are in use.
Demo Games:
We have many open games in our game library. These are for use of our patrons and are on a first-come first-use basis. Please make sure all components are put back after use.
